Outside Provisions
Being in the fresh air is very important to us at The Old School House Nursery (OSHN Ltd) and as well as each of the classes having their own designated outside classrooms to free flow in and out off, we also have additional outside space to enjoy.
The playing field provides a communally used, large, grassed area to play circle games, or our firm favourite ‘What’s the time Mr Wolf?’ as well as two all weather climbing apparatus.
We have a wild patch with a small pond (safely enclosed), as well as a wild flower area in the main field to encourage nature (and provide a great place for hide and seek).
We have a designated bike area, to help develop the children’s gross motor skills.
Our vegetable garden is incorporated into our yearly projects, with the children helping to sow and plant the seedlings, water and then harvest and eat the produce, helping develop their understanding of the world.
