It is our policy that children must attend at least two sessions each week and that these two sessions will be on different days. This ensures that they settle and make friends with both the children and staff more readily and also ensures that they maximise opportunity to share topical work which supports our core Montessori activities.
Places in our Puddle Duck Care facility will be offered on a first come first served basis, but you should be aware that full time requirements will be given priority over part time bookings.
Children attending part time in either our Duckling or Gosling groups who require just two sessions each week will usually be offered Tuesday and Thursday mornings.
Children attending three sessions will usually be offered Monday, Wednesday and Friday mornings.
Alternatives may be requested or suggested subject to availability and at the Principal’s discretion.
In order to maintain the smooth running of the nursery and make efficient use of resources, those children who extend their part time attendance from two to three or more sessions may be required to swap days. This requirement is subject to the availability of sessions.
Preference will be given to children who do not attend or plan to attend another group in conjunction with this setting as we feel strongly that some children find it difficult to cope when attending groups which may be very different in their expectations and facilities.
Additionally, requests for extra sessions/time at nursery should be given in writing and will be offered subject to availability. Our youngest part time children in our nursery group, attending just two mornings each week will usually be expected to increase their attendance to at least three mornings once they transfer to the Gosling Group which is usually just around their third birthday. If you wish, your child’s name may be placed on our waiting list (although it is unusual for places to suddenly become available during the academic year).
Fees for additional time/sessions booked become due upon invoice, unless they have been cancelled giving at least half a terms notice. (This is necessary to avoid the nursery having places left empty due to late decision taking and also to enable us to keep parents whose children are on the waiting list informed with at least half a terms notice).
If your child is absent due to illness, away on holiday fees will remain payable.
The Nursery will close for one week over Christmas – no charge will be made for this period.
Bank Holidays: There are no charges for full time children on Bank Holidays as the setting is closed for full time children.
Fees for part time children are charged per term, with no reduction for the one bank holiday which falls in term time.
An invoice will be raised in September according to the number of sessions booked with the annual cost being broken down into 12 equal monthly payments, which must be paid by standing order to reach our account on the 14th of each month.
Changes to attendance will generate a new invoice and monthly fee due.
Additional sessions: if you book additional sessions on an occasional basis, subject to availability, you will still be required to pay for these unless we are given 48 hrs notice that the additional session is no longer required.
